Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants is one of the most prestigious culinary awards in the world, recognizing the best restaurants across the continent.
The list is compiled by a panel of more than 300 industry experts from across Asia, with the final ranking based on votes cast by the judges. The annual awards ceremony is a celebration of the vibrant and diverse culinary scene in Asia, and the 2023 edition was no exception.
The 2023 Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants awards ceremony was held in Singapore, a city-state that is renowned for its vibrant food culture and its many world-class restaurants.
This event brought together some of the most talented chefs, restaurateurs, and food lovers from across Asia and beyond, to celebrate the best of the best in the culinary world.

No. 56 – Thevar
Jumping from No. 92 to No. 56 this year, Thevar is at two Michelin starred restaurant that features a creative and modern take on traditional Indian cuisine. Named after the head chef, Mano Thevar, who uses locally-sourced ingredients and innovative techniques to create dishes that are both familiar and unique.
No. 63 – Lolla
Going up 12 spots from No. 75 to No. 63, Lolla is a chic and modern restaurant located in Singapore’s Chinatown, known for its focus on using fresh, seasonal Mediterranean ingredients and dishes made for sharing. Lolla is helmed by this year’s Asia’s 50 Best Female Chef, Johanne Siy.
No. 83 – Nae:Um
New entry this year, Nae:Um is a one Michelin starred restaurant located in Singapore’s financial district. This stylish, minimalistic Korean restaurant features a mix of traditional Korean dishes with modern and innovative twists by Chefย Louis Han who was born and raised in Gangnam, South Korea.
No. 84 – JAAN by Kirk Westaway
A regular on this list, JAAN by Kirk Westaway is a contemporary British restaurant located in the 70th floor of the iconic Swissotel The Stamford in Singapore. With an emphasis on seasonal ingredients and sustainable sourcing, Chef Westaway draws on his upbringing in Devon, England, to create dishes that are both comforting and innovative, with a focus on showcasing the natural flavors of each ingredient.
No. 85 – Claudine
New entry this year, Claudine Restaurant is one of the trilogy restaurants by Chef Julien Royer. Located in an old colonial chapel, nestled within Dempsey Hill, the charming French neo-brasserie offers a unique and tranquil atmosphere, set amidst the bustling surroundings of Singapore.
No. 86 – Summer Pavilion
Making its debut this year, Summer Pavilion is a one Michelin starred restaurant that is located within The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore. Summer Pavilion’s menu is a showcase of Cantonese cuisine, prepared by a team of expert chefs led by Chef Cheung Siu Kong. The restaurant boasts a sophisticated and elegant interior that features modern Chinese elements, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for diners.
