Plume, a new wine bar by Le Comptoir is bringing destination dining to Central’s latest rooftop hotspot, with an extensive European-focused wine list to accompany contemporary French bar bites prepared by Écriture’s Executive Chef, Maxime Gilbert.
Located at the rooftop of the architectural icon and gastronomic destination H Queen’s, Plume provides a casual, all-day experience in contrast to the meticulous tasting menu served downstairs, with a bespoke experience built around a world-class wine list and elevated bar bites.
Since Écriture’s inception in April 2018, it has established itself as one of the most highly regarded fine dining establishments in Hong Kong, earning two Michelin stars from 2019 to 2021 and ranking No. 87 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants Top 100 List, as voted on by World’s 50 Best Restaurants.
The launch of Plume marks the next step in the evolution of Écriture; while the latter translates to ‘writing’ in French, the moniker ‘Plume’ denotes a close association, referencing the traditional feather quills used for penning custom letters before the advent of digital technology.
You can tuck into modern French dishes complemented by a 500-reference-strong wine list and a collection of premium cigars while seated among the comfortable lounge chairs against the backdrop of the twinkling Central cityscape and iconic Victoria Harbour in the distance.
Chef Maxime and his team have created a delectable menu of Gallic bites to complement the extensive wine list at Plume.
Enjoy sumptuous Homemade French Toast, Croque Monsieur blanketed in bubbling, browned cheese, and Beef Tartare, the latter made with premium Australian Wagyu beef.
For those looking to splurge, Écriture’s signature Caviar Tart pairs well with a glass of effervescent Champagne.
Meanwhile, early risers can look forward to a breakfast set that will be available soon, featuring an assortment of classic French pastries paired with rustic homemade bread and coffee or fresh juice.
Stop by for a delectable after-work aperitif: fresh oysters with shallot vinegar; cheese plates sourced from world-renowned fromagier, Bernard Antony; and Oteiza charcuterie flown in from the heart of Basque Country.
Plume also offers an inviting space to expand your wine education, with attentive service and personalised wine pairing knowledge from expert sommeliers, while those looking for a casual aperitif or post-prandial nightcap can toast to breezy evenings as the sun sets behind the city’s concrete jungle.
