Chef’s Recommendations at Woo Cheong Tea House
Not sure what to order? The signature Steamed Shrimp Dumpling, Pork, Dragon Well Tea is highly recommended by the restaurant.
If you enjoy strong flavors, Woo Cheong Tea House recommends Pan-seared Bun, Mixed Seafood, Tom Yum Style. Each pan-seared bun has Thai tom yum soup injected into it that makes a tantalizingly spicy and sour flavor with each bite.
The new Hong Kong-style Mini Pineapple Bun with French Butter is another classic pastry with a modern twist. Its soft, fragrant, and fluffy bun is made in the style of Japanese “shokupan” milk bread, while the crust is crispy with a thick slab of salted French butter in the middle.
Another chef’s recommendation is the Steamed Quinoa Rice Roll with Mixed Vegetables. The silky smooth rice roll wrapper contains a colorful array of fresh vegetables such as cabbage, Chinese arrowroot, celery, mushrooms, and carrots. This dish is recommended as a healthy choice as quinoa is a superfood high in dietary fiber, and vitamin-rich sago which are both high in antioxidants.
Sugarcane juice is well-known for its cooling properties and the chefs at Woo Cheong Tea House wanted to create a fun new dessert inspired by classic black sesame rolls using sugarcane juice produced by Kung Lee – a beloved Hong Kong institution founded in the 1940s.
These fragrant and refreshing Steamed Sugarcane Juice Rolls are a sweet ending to any meal with an al dente texture.
