New Afternoon Tea with Free Flow Ruinart Champagne at Statement in Tai Kwun

Spread the love

In collaboration with Ruinart Champagne Blanc de Blancs, contemporary British restaurant Statement offers a revitalised afternoon tea. The Lady Caine Afternoon Tea pays homage to nostalgic teatime notions of bygone eras, presenting delectable tiers of bespoke sweet and savoury classics to pair with the renowned Champagne, all served in the historic surroundings of Tai Kwun.

Statement is inspired by Lady Caine (the wife of Captain William Caine, who conceived and built the original Tai Kwun) and her love of hosting elegant high tea soirees with a wistful take on tradition that nods to old Hong Kong flavours.

The handcrafted sweet and savoury bites include Beef Tenderloin Cutlet and Chicken Teriyaki Mantou (Chinese steamed buns), Black Sesame Tofu Cheesecake, Red Bean & Coconut Tart, and more, as well as classic scones served with clotted cream and homemade jams.

This afternoon tea is served with vibrant edible butterflies fluttering on a beautiful metal spiral art piece designed by world-renowned designer and architect Ron Arad.

Prices start at $298 per person and are available from 3-5pm on Thursdays through Sundays
