My Sri Lanka Itinerary
During my recent press trip, I was invited to experience 4 out of 7 of these unique properties by Teardrop Hotels with my significant other. Boy, it felt like a romantic getaway in different parts of Sri Lanka.
Even though it was my second time to Sri Lanka, I was surprised to find out that Sri Lanka is just a quick 4-hour direct flight from Singapore. If you’re looking for an extraordinary destination for a luxury retreat in Southeast Asia, look no further.
We started at Wallawwa in Colombo on our first night, followed by 2 nights at Camellia Hills in Dickoya, next Nine Skies in Ella, and our last night was spent at Fort Bazaar which is located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Galle Fort.
(Pro tip: If you’re planning to stay in different Teardrop Hotels in one trip, I highly recommend to stay at least 2 nights at each hotel to fully immerse into the experience).
Day 1: Wallawwa in Colombo

Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, the main international airport of Sri Lanka, we were greeted by our designated driver named Ram and transported to Wallawwa in less than a 20-minute drive with minimum traffic.
The Wallawwa stands apart from your average airport hotel in Colombo. Nestled within lush tropical gardens that have flourished for two centuries, this serene sanctuary is conveniently located just a 15-minute drive away from Sri Lanka’s primary international gateway.
Housed within a captivating 18th-century manor, this enchanting retreat promises a stylish and serene alternative to the hotels in Negombo with charming 18-bedroom country house design, delectable gourmet cuisine, rejuvenating jungle pool, and heavenly spa.
Whether you are beginning or concluding your Sri Lankan vacation, The Wallawwa guarantees an exquisite experience that will leave a lasting impression.

Positioned gracefully on the edge of a lush valley, this exquisite property offers breathtaking vistas of the serene Castlereagh Reservoir and the tea-draped hills that envelop it.
Indulge in the splendor of these panoramic views as you unwind on plush sofas next to a crackling fireplace, savor delectable meals in the semi-open-air setting, or take refreshing swims in the inviting garden pool.
